Konya Kavak Prayer

Also known as “saf,” prayer rugs, prayer carpets and prayer kilims are all similar in that they’re all used for just about the exclusive purpose of prayer, and designed exclusively for that purpose. Because prayer is almost always formed in groups with prayer rugs lined alongside one another, the symmetry formed by the motifs in the rugs is one of their most important features.
