Zili is one of the hardest forms of Kirkit weaving, and at the same time is one of the most precious of all of Turkish handcrafted artworks. Because of its difficulty and the fact that all motifs can’t be woven in all that easily, one finds the same basic motifs used over hundreds of years. What this ends up meaning is that you find the same basic aesthetic all the way from Algeria to Samarkand!
